Mentorship

Mentorship is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. When the research idea has potential, I like to collaborate with students to extend the research and prepare work for academic peer review and publication.

Here are some instructions for prospective advisees.

Undergraduate students at the University of Victoria – I’m serving as the co-instructor for the Undergraduate Honors course Fall 2024-Spring 2027. During this time, I’m working with my co-instructor to support the entire Honors cohort and consequently cannot advise an honors student one-on-one.

Masters students at the University of Victoria – I am at capacity for advising for the remainder of 2024-2025. If you’re interested in working with me on your thesis or extended essay starting in May 2025, please reach out early.

Prospective PhD students – I’m open to discussing the Economics doctoral program at the University of Victoria, but only with students whose interests areas directly align with my current research agenda. Our department’s PhD program is limited, so a very close advisor-advisee research match is essential. Emails from prospective students whose interests are poorly aligned with my research expertise will not receive a response.
